Battery died....best way to charge?

So I just bought a 96 savage yesterday. Can I say that I'm already in love? It's my first bike and so I'm making some very silly mistsakes. I accidentally left the key on last night and drained the brand new battery that was just placed in it. I'm not sure the best way to charge it. Can it be jumped with a car? Should I get a special charger? what would you suggest?
